Garip hareketi, garip akımı ya da birinci yeni olarak bilinen; Orhan Veli Kanık, Oktay Rifat ve Melih Cevdet Anday'ın öncülüğünü yaptığı şiir hareketidir.

Birinci Yeni ne zaman?

Garip akımı 1940 yıllarında ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu akım şiirin biçim yönünden serbest şiire doğru ilgi oluşması ile meydana gelmiş ve birinci yeniciler şiirlerde tüm kural ve belirli kalıplara karşı çıkmışlardır. Türk Edebiyatının renklerinden olan Garip Akımı Birinci Yeni Şiir olarak da adlandırılmaktadır.
